Tuesday, February 24th

• Project 2 -in class we will go over step 2 (How to Invert)
• studio Day

Thursday, February 26th

• Project 2-Process Review (Critique on the 3rd)
• I will bring in paper and review mounting on matte board

Tuesday,  February 17th

• Animations completed | At beginning of class, please insert .swf file into Apps drive>Art Server Space>Monico>Visual>Animations
• Have Read Chapters 1,2 & 6 out of elements Text. No reading response required.

Thursday,  February 19th

• 25 thumbnails due for Project 2
• Don’t fall behind on your exercises
  

Using Illustrator you are to create an animation of a character that
is engaged in some aspect of a journey. You may be as literal or as
abstract as you want.
i.e. riding a bicycle, playing chess, socks at war with one another,
squirrels vacuuming the rug, etc..
Guidelines:
+ illustrator document size will be 800 x 600 in pixels
+ all imagery must be created in illustrator
+animation must be a minimum of 10 seconds
+final version will be saved as a .swf and .ai file
+this is the only exercise that is due prior to the mid-term.

“How to Animate in illustrator”
+every layer represents a frame
+if duplicating a layer, you can drag a layer down to the bottom of
layer palette
+you can also insert a new layer and copy and paste content from
one layer to the next
+To export your animation FILE>EXPORT (file type is .swf) .AI layers
to SWF frames
+ the .swf file will be saved automatically wherever your .ai file is
located
+if you have a layer that is hidden at time of export, it will not be
visible in .swf file

• Critique for Project 1

• 8 sketches for each word. 48 sketches in total. Must have some in computer.

Thursday, February 5th

• Narrowed down to your top 3 for each word. Top 3 must be in computer
• In class: Prepare for critique, Mounting lecture

Tuesday,  January 27th

• Submit Paragraph reading response to “what is design” 
• In class-Assign Project 1

Thursday,  January 29th

• Be prepared for an in class exercise. Read Chapters 4 & 5 of your text.
